First teased by Vans yesterday, a collaborative line with the Harry Potter franchise is on the way from the popular maker of skateboarding shoes and apparel. It's the first time the two brands have worked together, the NME reported.

Promising "something magical coming soon" on social media Monday, Vans pointed shoe lovers and Hogwarts aficionados to the website vans.com/harrypotter, where it's conveyed that the literary staple and shoe manufacturer have "collaborated to conjure up a magical collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories for witches, wizards, and muggles alike" — although the products themselves have yet to be revealed. See the post below.

It's obviously not the first time a major media concern has worked with Vans on a line. But in the rock world, the shoe company has previously collaborated with bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden and David Bowie.

In fact, the Vans x Metallica release was so popular that the group returned for further collaborations with the shoemaker. Last year, Metallica's third line of Vans was released to the public alongside related clothes and accessories.

On the Vans website, a display shows different patterns representing the four houses of Hogwarts, the fictional school of magic in the Harry Potter series, leading many to believe there will be a corresponding Vans shoe for each house.
