Veteran Central Maine Sportscaster Retires
According to the Bangor Daily News, after 39 years on the air, sportscaster Tim Throckmorton will retire on May 3rd.
A graduate of Bangor High School and the University of Maine, he began his broadcasting career in 1980 at WABI-AM and WBGW-FM. He became WABI-TV's sports anchor in 1984.
WABI will run two half-hour specials about Throckmorton on May 1st and May 2nd.
He will retire as the longest-serving TV sportcaster in Maine.
