Veteran Maine Broadcaster To Retire At The End Of The Year
According to WABI TV, Maine native and veteran reporter Jim Morris will retire from the station at the end of December.
He worked for WABI radio while attending the University of Maine at Orono. In 1983, he graduated with degrees in Journalism and Broadcasting and took a job at WVII-TV. In 1985, he left Maine for TV jobs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Morris returned to Maine in 1993 and became the assistant news director for WABI in 1995. in 2000, he was promoted to new director. He's anchored the station's early evening news since 1996.
When Morris leaves, Jon Small will take over as news director and Catherine Pegram will become the assistant news director.
