Sure, I love being on the radio and doing the job that I am paid to do. But where my heart is truly the happiest is working with non-profits to raise much-needed funds for organizations that are critical to the well-being of society.

One of those organizations that is incredibly near and dear to me, is the National Brain Tumor Society. I'm blessed that my best friend, Kelly Theberge, runs her own organization that directly gives back to the NBTS.

Through her work with Kelly's Cause For Brain Tumors, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised right here in Central Maine and given back to NBTS over the last decade or so.

That fundraising is often a mix of the annual 5K, silent and live auctions, community events and, my personal favorite, parties for a cause. Maybe it's because she trusts my judgment, or because she's crazy, but either way, Kelly let's me plan these 'parties for a cause' a couple of times a year.

The next one on the calendar will be happening at Westernview Golf Club on Bolton Hill Road here in Augusta. The team at Westernview has been incredible with allowing us free reign to plan and execute these events in their space.

Our Halloween party will be happening on Saturday, October 26th from 5-10p. Doors open at 5 with dinner and drinks from 5-7 and 90's and 2000's dance music from 7-10. We'll bust out the lasers and fog machines for this one, too!

In addition, we will have prizes for best individual costume and best couple's costume. And, the best part is that all the money raised will be going to fund brain cancer research with the National Brain Tumor Society.

See you on the 26th of October!

PS, it's probably implied, but this is a 21+ event. Get a sitter and have a fun night out!
