When Will Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts Get One Of These Incredibly Popular Stores?
If you have spent much time traveling around the middle or the southern part of our great country, there is a good chance that you have encountered one of these beloved gas station/convenience stores.
You are probably asking yourself why the author just called a gas station "beloved", right? Well, it is the most accurate way of referring to them. Most people who visit these stores immediately fall in love with them.
What are we talking about? A chain called Buc-ee's!
What Is Buc-ee's?
The chain's first location opened in Texas in 1982. After opening numerous locations across the Lone Star State over the next few decades, the chain began to expand outside Texas in 2018.
As of 2024, the chain has locations in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Colorado and South Carolina. Right now, there are about 50 locations across the country.
These places are more than just a convenience store. Each one does sell typical convenience items, but they also sell beef brisket (at a gas station? Yes!), sandwiches, tacos, bakery items, Dippin' Dots, and more. They even sell fudge that is made on-site.
They also have a massive store at each location. These stores sell everything from personal care items to apparel, to thermoses, and more.
And, you never have to wait long to gas up at a Buc-ee's. Each location has somewhere between 80 and 120 gas pumps. They also frequently have EV charging stations.
Some of their locations even have car washes. Like anything, if the car washes work out I am sure we will see them added to additional locations.
The Largest Gas Station In The World?
Earlier this year, a Buc-ee's location in Tennessee became the largest gas station in the world. That particular location encompasses about 74,000 square feet!
Is Buc-ee's Coming To Maine, Massachusetts, Or New Hampshire?
Even though those of us who spend a lot of time on the road would love to see the brand expand into the northeast, at this point, it does not look like we'll be getting one anytime soon.
Look on the bright side, though, we still have Dysart's!
