Just a couple weeks ago, Star Wars fans around the world celebrated Star Wars Day ("May the 4th be with you!").  But, there's another big Star Wars holiday this Thursday.

Thursday, May 25th, is a big day for Star Wars fans because it marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Episode IV: A New Hope, the original Star Wars movie.

I never saw the movie when it first came out (I hadn't been born yet).  Actually, I never had a chance to see the movie until the early 90s.  When I did see it, I was amazed!  Even though it was made almost half a century ago, and there have been a pile of Star Wars movies made since (using way better special FX), it is still the best.

Check out this original, 1977, trailer for the movie:

And, here's what the trailer for the new Star Wars movie would look like if it came out in the early 80s:

If you've never seen the original, you need to watch it.  Even if you are not a sci-fi fan.  It's one of the best family friendly adventure movies ever made.
