Will Any of the Maine Big Lots Stores Reopen?

For those of you who love discounts, and great deals, Big Lots may be a store you add to your list of possible locations to bargain hunt at.

Let's get the Big Lots details!

As most of us know, Big Lots announced bankruptcy in September 2024 along with the closure of all the stores. However, Variety Wholesalers came on board to buy 200 - 400 of these locations and want to resurrect the store, according to Southern Living.

Take a look at Big Lot's Facebook page, announcing they are coming back baby!

The first wave of reopening is going to start this month on April 10th 2025, as per the article. The stores will open in Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

But what about New England?

According to the article, more locations will follow suit into June in the Southern United States.

But our state is not on the list of reopening's! It is possible that in the future they could include the northern US but they are focusing mostly on the South for now.

So, we may need to continue our bargain hunting at great places like Marden's and Renys.
