A unique Portland business that combined an indoor dog park, doggie daycare and restaurant has temporarily closed.

Woof Play Eat announced that both the dog-focused facility and its restaurant, Savor, are closed for the time being as the owners work through business-related matters and consider the future of the company.

In a statement, the owners said the closure was a difficult but necessary decision.

“This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it’s the right step as we evaluate our options and determine the best path forward,” the statement said.

According to WGME, the owners did not provide a specific reason for the closure or say how long they expect the business to remain closed. They said additional details will be shared with customers and the community when more information becomes available.

“Our hope is to welcome you and your pups back through our doors, and we’ll keep everyone updated as we move forward,” Woof Play Eat said.

Woof Play Eat offered a year-round space where dog owners could bring their pets to play indoors regardless of the weather. Dogs were allowed to run and socialize off-leash while their owners enjoyed food and drinks nearby, the news station reported.

In addition to its indoor dog park and doggie daycare services, the business included a coffee bar, pizzeria and full restaurant. The concept was designed to give both dogs and their owners a place to relax, socialize and spend time together.

For now, the owners are asking customers to watch for future updates regarding the business and a possible reopening.
