The listing explains that the company, which was founded in 1925, provides water to eighty metered buildings and about 200 residents.

The post explains that the company has two employees and has a bunch of owned real estate.  The assets that come with the property include:

0.2 acres of field, 1,820 ft. +/- of stream frontage and 3.5 acres of mature forest. Distribution equipment is in a granite and wood structure built in 1804 (state historic building registry). Land and buildings were also a water-powered saw mill and grist mill with most equipment still in-place.

Currently, the list price is $209,000.  The cash flow is just under $35,000.  However, the listing also says that the company is due for a Maine Public Utilities Commission review for a rate increase.  According to the listing, the last rate increase was in 2014.

So, which Central Maine water company is this?  Well, the listing does not say.  However, regardless of the location, it couple be a great business opportunity for someone.  Yes, you probably would not be able to quit your job, but it could be a unique way to expand your portfolio.  Just like electricity and internet service, we all need access to running water.
