You Must Plan A Visit To The Breathtaking Ice Palaces Of Bethel
One of the most popular events of last winter was Ice Palaces in Boothbay. Visitors had a chance to tour illuminated ice sculptures while snacking on food from a variety of food trucks. Given all that was going on at the time, it was a fun way to spend some quality time with the family.
If you were a fan of the event, we’ve got some good news. It has been announced that the event will return this winter in a new, bigger, location.
This year, the event moves from the coast of Maine to the mountains of Maine. Northeast Ice Palaces will be located at the Bethel Outdoor Adventure Campground on Mayville Road in Bethel. This new location will allow for even more palaces.
Just as they did last year, the plan is for several food trucks to be set up at the attraction. The specific food trucks are subject to change, but organizers are planning to truck that sell BBQ, Mexican food, and snack foods (French fries, fried dough, etc)
Assuming we continue to have winter temperatures, the plan is for the attraction to open by January 29th. Weather permitting, they plan to be open Wednesdays through Sundays. They are also planning to have two sessions. The afternoon session will run from Noon to 4 PM. The evening session will run from 4 to 9:30.
Tickets for the afternoon (day) sessions will be $15. Tickets for the night session (when you get the best experience) will be $19.
Because the event is really weather depending, your best bet is to keep an eye on their website for all the details.
If you never had a chance to go last year, the following news report will give you a pretty good idea of what the attraction is like.
