11 year Old, Youngest to be Charged with Homicide in Maine, Pleads ‘No Answer’

'No Answer.' That was the plea today in Skowhegan District Court of the 11-year-old Fairfield girl accused of killing a 3-month-old baby in July. She is charged with reckless or criminally negligent manslaughter in the death of Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway of Clinton. In juvenile court the 'no answer' plea is equivalent to a 'no plea' in adult court.

Brooklyn was in the care of the girl’s mother and according to Brooklyn’s mother, Nicole Greenaway, the baby was left alone with the then-10-year-old girl. The 11 year old accused is the youngest person to be charged with homicide in Maine in at least 30 years. A competency hearing was requested today. Her next court appearance will be February 28.
