February 5, 2013 It’s "Truck Day!" It’s the unofficial beginning of the Red Sox baseball season. It’s the day the truck full of the player’s equipment leaves Fenway for Fort Myers. The 18-wheeler travels almost 1,500 miles to bring the gloves, bats and every thing else they’ll need for spring training.

February 3, 2013 Super Bowl XLVII is almost 3/4 through and it's a school night so we're trying to put the boys to bed. Even worse now since the power outage at the Super Dome is making the game longer. One night out of the year so I guess it's okay for them to stay up a little later. It could be worse, it could be a baseball playoff game starting at 8:30 pm.

February 1, 2013 As everybody knows, Sunday it is Super Bowl XLVII (47) with the 49ers vs. the Ravens. Most everybody will be watching the game, if for no other reason, it will be for the entertainment aspect of the event. Well not everyone wants to watch football, so I went ahead on the remote control guide thingy and have come up with a few alternatives to the Super Bowl.
January 31, 2013 January 31 is ‘Backward Day.’ Think of all of the backwards things we’ve done and do. Sadie Hawkins Day or dances could be thought of as backwards, although in 2013 one would think that anyone could ask anyone for a dance, a date or even hand in marriage.
January 31, 2013 I debated whether to write on this today and in the end I am going to say something. I'm quite sad this morning. A 7th grade student at my son's school died on Tuesday. We received a phone call from Auburn Middle School yesterday at about 12:30 pm. It was the Principal telling us a 7th grade student passed away and that a letter would be coming home with more information.
January 30, 2013 When I worked at a convenience store back in the mid 90's there were three basic rules for selling alcohol, Still are, I’m sure. The rules were that the person buying has to be of legal age (21) with proof, the person buying has to be coherent, meaning not drunk and it’s a judgment call on the seller and thirdly, you can’t sell after or before hours.
