I am the News Director for the Townsquare Media/Augusta-Waterville stations and also the host of our public affairs show, "Issues," Sunday mornings! Make sure you come say "Hi" to me at one of our many live local broadcasts.
Hello Kitty is not a cat. She is a little girl. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY WORLD?? All this is according to Christine R. Yano, an anthropologist with the University of Hawaii who is curator of a Hello Kitty retrospective at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles in October. She told this to the Los Angeles Times. Hello? Her name is Kitty. She has whiskers and pointy cat ears. Well, whatever she is or is not. I still love Hello Kitty.
I hate the reclining seats on planes and trains. Hey I paid my money for my space. Get that seat out of my space. If the travel industry wants to offer reclining seats then make the distance between the seats so that reclined seat does not affect my space. Recently a United flight from Newark to Denver was diverted after a fight broke out over a reclining seat.
The last few weeks I have been going through an existential crisis. Have you had one? They can be a real pain in the butt. But growth always is. Like the universe knew just want I needed today is a touching video to make me smile and feel! From what I can tell it’s an ad for Thai life insurance company
This is so well done. This year I have spent a lot of time talking with the Family Violence Project on our Sunday morning issues program. One of our recent conversations was about dating violence and teen
I love this! Turns out farming is hip in New England. Across the region. Young adults are choosing crops over cubicles, new farms are popping up and the local food movement is spreading. The region’s small size makes it easy for farmers and consumers to connect at farm markets and stands.
I live in Augusta. Augusta, Maine. I have owned a home since 2008. So it was no big surprise when my tax bill arrived last week. But as I opened to take a peek before it when to the bank to be paid by the escrow account, I noticed something that was a hoot
‘Fat Guys In The Woods’. What a great name for a show! Turns out it is from The Weather Channel. I like nature/survivalist shows. This one is great. Each week, ‘Fat Guys in the Woods’ has three average guys learn to build shelter, fire, scavenge and hunt all in the name of survival. They do that with the help of The Weather Channel's resident Survival Expert Creek Stewart. Creek! Best name ever!
A few years ago I seemed to be getting a new debit card every few months because of this stuff. Well, here we go again. I return from vacation to hear Shaw's, where I do almost all of my grocery shopping, has had an issue. But there is some updated information from Shaw's on the matter.
I was SO excited to go to the Boston Comic Con 2014 this year. It was happening on my birthday and on my vacation so it seemed like a great way to enjoy both. I had been to Port-Con a couple of years ago with my friend, Amanda. She is very much into the comic book scene and I had never been. Port-Con was so much fun. I figured doing it bigger and better was would be even more fun!
