What was better than going to the beach on a day like today? Not too much except maybe getting paid to be there. I had a blast at Old Orchard Beach today. Palace Playland was hopping, the beach was full of people and the pier fries awesome. Many, many, many people dropped by for stickers and to sign up for tickets to see Ke$ha in Bangor on August 30th!

UPDATE: Because of rain, all events at the Topsham Fair scheduled for tonight, Aug. 9 have been cancelled. The fireworks will be held as scheduled tomorrow night. However, despite the cancellation, 92Moose will be broadcasting live from the fair until 7 p.m. Friday night. The Topsham Fair is going strong! Spirit Medium, Maureen Hancock, has joined the Moose Morning Show the past few weeks and she has made an amazing impact by connecting with listeners. This morning (Aug. 7) she did it again, talking with 3 different Moose Morning Show callers.

I had a great time in Wiscasset at the municipal airport during the two hour broadcast promoting ‘Wings Over Wiscasset.’ The Moose was there from 11:30 to 1:30. On the tarmac there are many planes to look at from the World War II era and cars from the same era through the fifties, sixties and seventies.

Have you noticed something new on your phone lately?

Overnight radio, there is nothing quite like it. You can roll in at about 11:45 and leave when the show is over. I remember my early days in radio doing overnights. Three in the morning would hit and “Better Man” by Pearl Jam or a slow Mariah Carey song for example would come up and you’d be doing everything to stay awake. You’d be drinking coffee, Mountain Dew or maybe taking a Nodoz.
