One of my favorite things about summer is cooling off in a pool of water when it's a super hot day. Sometimes those swimming spots cost money and right now, especially during the current climate, us families do not have the extra money to spend.

So I decided to make a list of free swimming spots, right here in Maine that don't cost you a cent!

Coming up with different ideas for the to keep the kids busy this summer is not always easy. There are so many times you can say, "Go outside and play." You certainly do not want them spending all summer long on their iPads or devices either, so this is a perfect little getaway for a day to cool-off and make memories to last a lifetime.

Out of these swimming spots, I have frequented Smalls Falls near Rangeley and let me tell you, it was fun. Who wouldn't want to jump into waterfalls?

Most of these spots are not too far from Central Maine and located in Western Maine. However, if you do have to travel, at least you don't have to worry about paying to swim!

So grab the cooler, floaties and sunscreen because you can now schedule your swimming trips without having to empty your wallet or budget your money beforehand!

Below is a list of the 8 free swimming spots I have found in Maine, so far!
