It was a wild scene of events that ended with a red pickup truck coming to rest in a Maine riverbed on Monday.

According to an article published on Monday afternoon by the Kennebec Journal, the crash was reported at about 11:20 on Monday morning. The article explains that two people in a pickup truck struck a utility pole after going off the road in Avon.

Following the striking of the utility pole the pickup truck then reportedly careened down a fairly steep embankment before coming to rest in a riverbed along Route 4. The vehicle involved was a red GMC pickup truck.

The Kennebec Journal reports the occupants, Carey Craig (driver), 46 of Lewiston along with an unnamed passenger, were transported via ambulance to the Franklin Memorial Hospital with what are being considered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Kennebec Journal is reporting that in addition to the Maine State Police, both the Strong and Phillips Fire Departments responded to the route 4 crash scene on Monday morning to aid in assistance.

Fortunately, no other vehicles or people were involved in the Monday morning crash, though the exact cause of why the truck went off the road, into the utility pole and then down the bank in the first place has not yet been released to the public.

The Maine State Police continue to investigate the crash and we will provide you with any updates when they are made available to us.
