Following what was an absolutely traumatic experience for one Maine woman, two Maine residents are now in custody on an array of charges.

According to a press release from the Brunswick, Maine, Police Department, the female victim was sitting in her car in the Walmart parking lot in Brunswick, Maine, at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24. The woman was reportedly waiting for an acquaintance of hers to show up.

That acquaintance, 30-year-old Katelynn McLaughlin of Portland, Maine, eventually showed up and got into the car with the waiting woman, according to the press release.

Police said that as McLaughlin entered the car, so too did a man, who got into the back seat and pointed a gun at the female driver.

That man, later identified as Emmanual Hurtado of Augusta, Maine, then told the female in the driver's seat to begin driving, according to Brunswick police.

After about 20 minutes of driving, police said that the pair then told the victim to stop so the suspects could get out.

The pair reportedly did exit the vehicle, but not before allegedly stealing property from the victim and her vehicle, according to the press release.
