I did not. But I will get to it, really! It is one of those places that is do easy to avoid.  ‘Clean Out Your Fridge Day’ is all about getting the icebox ready for the Thanksgiving turkey and ALL that yummy food. So, I have found some extra info to make it happen and make sure we cover all our bases. We are doing in, might as well do it right.

For a top to bottom cleaning you start with unplugging it, removing the bottom grille and drip pan and cleaning that out.  And I think since you are there might as well clean the wall and floor behind it while you are at it. Then use an old toothbrush and a mild bleach mix to scrub the rubber dog gasket. It is THE place mold likes to grow. ICK!

Now, take out ALL the food. Toss the stuff that is old or nasty.  Then you haul out all the drawers, shelves and anything else that will come out. Grab a sponge and get going. OK, NEVER wash cold glass shelves with hot water. They might crack.  Take on any stuck on, gooey stuff.  Rinse and rinse and dry it all very well.  Now wipe down the inside and the door shelves. I like a vinegar and water mix.  Since this is the home to my food, it is a natural cleaner and I like the smell of vinegar. You need to dry the inside too!

Now that everything is clean and dry, put it all back! But if you had jars or anything you are putting back in that had a sticky bottom, clean that off before you put it back in.  Nothing is as nasty as a sticky bottom!
