So many streaming services. I get it. If you are like me and do not do the cable TV thing, then it is internet and streaming services.

There have been several new contenders in the streaming wars…like Disney +. Enter the latest offering in the market is NBCUniversal’s new Peacock service. OH great, one more thing to pay for. OH, NO…they are doing this a little differently.

There are different levels of service. OK, what is this going to cost me?

According to NBC News, they are looking ahead to when TV, as we have known it, may not even exist. So it is old school and new school all at once. Today (7/15/2020), it launches with its three tiers of service.

1: FREE with ads and feature 13,000 hours of content.

2: Premium with 20,000 hours of content. Free for Comcast and Cox subscribers, $4.99 with ads.

3: Ad-Free Premium is the same as above but no ads for $10 a month.

NBC News says Peacock will stream with an app, but I was reading they don’t have a deal (yet) for Roku or Amazon’s Fire TV.

It is like…watching TV. There will be older and new programming. There will be live programming, so you can just sit down and watch. Also, some custom channels “built around certain shows, themes, and genres.”

OK, I admit, they had me at free. But I watch most programing with my Roku so I will have to watch on my phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Hopefully soon on my Roku.
