In the aftermath of the devastating mass shootings on Wednesday, October 25th, in Lewiston, Maine, many individuals are eager to provide help to the families of the victims.

The Lewiston Strong Memorial Benefit was organized by city members, Derek Haskell, Nick Perry, Anthony Gowell, Zack Timmermeyer, Chase Cote, Mariann Gowell and Dan Labrie. These amazing humans wanted to roll up their sleeves and help.

I had the opportunity to chat with Derek, and he conveyed to me that he is doing this because he loves his city and what it stands for.

"Rallying and having each other's backs during times when we’re down. I was born and raised here. We honor each other to the highest and pick each other up when we’re down," he said. "We are one."

He added, "I’m using my platform of the game I love to raise money and give back to those that need it."
The softball tourney will be scheduled for November 11 at 7:30 a.m. at the Randall Ball Fields in Lewiston, according to the event page.
This charitable softball tournament aims to honor all the lives lost on that fateful day.
In addition, it will be a coed tournament featuring gift card raffles, a food truck, and a 50/50 raffle, according to the page.
Anticipate a massive event with the potential for expanding even more. Let's celebrate the beautiful lives we cherished, and feel free to drop by, even if you're not playing!

If you represent a business and would like to contribute by offering gift cards or donations, please don't hesitate to contact the event page coordinators.

Every small contribution makes a big difference!
