You know I'm a big believer in adopting your furry friends. Oden, my dog who is more popular on social media than I am, but don't get me started, came to us from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston. They do an amazing job and here's your chance to support them with 'Pause for Pets,' Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Ramada Inn, Pleasant St., Lewiston.

The Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta is waiving the adoption fee all this week for adult cats that are seven months old and up.

Who doesn't love a puppy? Or a sweet kitty? Sadly, many of the older animals in rescues and animal shelters are ignored due to their age. But there's treasure to be found in these golden years beasts!

Insurance company Nationwide has compiled a list of the 10 'wackiest' dog and cat names. The list comes from their database of insured pets.

The Humane Society Waterville Area has taken in 41 cats from what is being called a hoarding situation.

Earlier this week 2 cats were dropped off at the Franklin County Animal Shelter on Industry Road in Farmington, zipped inside a duffel bag. The shelter would like to spread the word about the best way to bring in an unwanted animal, especially after last months incident in Lewiston, when a dog died.

Leave it to a company called 'Twinkle Tush' to have a catchy commercial about a jewel used to cover your cat's unsightly butt hole.... Yeah a jewel!
