A Maine grandmother walked in on an underage drinking party at her home and reported the juveniles to the police.

The incident happened last Friday night (04/01/15) on Broadway Place in Rockland.

According to the story in the BDN, four children, one as young as 11, were charged with possession of alcohol  when the drinking party was broken up by one of the juveniles' grandmother.

The ages of the other kids charged in connection with the incident are 13, 14 and 15.

The 11-year-old who was charged with possession of alcohol and a second 11-year-old who left the party before police arrived was later charged with theft of alcohol from a Hannaford near the Broadway Place home.

Linda Elliot, Juvenile Community Corrections Officer said she had not seen the police report as of yet, but normally if the juveniles have no prior run-ins with the law, they release them to their caregivers and try to get the children help like programs, education, counseling, etc.

If juveniles have prior offenses, most likely they would have to go to court.

Could you or would you call the police if you found your underage son or daughter and a couple of friends drinking?

Tough call, because it looks bad on you either way.
