Lizzy and I were blown away to be asked to attend the annual meeting of the Law Enforcement Torch Run in South Portland this year. At that event, we were recognized for our contributions to Maine Special Olympics with our annual Requestathon fundraiser.

The award, created this year, is called the Outstanding Community Partner Award and we were the very first recipients. We couldn't be more proud to have accepted the inaugural award, though the thanks really goes out to you, the listeners, who year after year call in and pledge your support to SOM.

The 92 Moose Requestathon for Special Olympics Maine is one of our most meaningful and high-energy annual events. For an entire day, the airwaves are taken over by our listeners and their song requests and, what's more, every song played helps raise money for a great cause.

Listeners call in making song requests in exchange for a minimum donation of $25 that go directly to Special Olympics Maine. It’s a unique blend of fun, community spirit and giving back to a cause that gives so much to Maine athletes.

Over the years, the 92 Moose Requestathon has raised over a hundred thousand dollars to support athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state, helping fund year-round training, competitions and life-changing opportunities. It's more than just a radio event, it's a full-on celebration of the athletes that we care so much about!

This year, the Requestathon will be taking place on Thursday, June 5th, from 6a to 6p. It's your chance to call in, make a minimum donation of $25 and hear any song you want (as long as it's radio appropriate)!

The event coincides with the law enforcement torch run as our awesome LEOs run the torch all the way up to Surgarloaf USA to signal the start of the games. This year, the event is being powered by longtime supporter, ESM.

Jean Gallant and her team are so dedicated to this cause and turn out year after year to show their endless support. We are so happy to have them onboard as our major sponsor!

ESM serves a variety of individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities. We serve adults 18 years and older. ESM’s clients live in the community, either in their own apartments, homes, or ESM-licensed facilities. Some live on their own, while others live with roommates, friends, or family.
