A New Restaurant is Coming to The Former Rebecca’s Place in Augusta, Maine
Rebecca's place, located on Eastern Avenue in Augusta, was an absolute favorite among locals and 'folks from away' for decades. Sadly, owner Nancy Berg made the tough decision to close the eatery in 2021.
Since then, whenever you drive by, the restaurant sits idly by on the side of the road, the 'Rebecca's Place' sign still prominently displayed roadside. We've all been wondering what is going to happen to the former restaurant.
Well, according to a Facebook post from Cathy Brochu Lucas, she has just purchased the former Rebecca's Place and is going to be transitioning it into the Countryside Diner.
There is no word yet on when the new establishment will be opening or exactly what the menu will look like, but I think we can all agree we're just happy to see new local business coming to Augusta!
