I like to think that I have a perfect combination of horrible luck and also amazing luck. The weirdest and most unfortunate stuff always seems to happen to me, but then it always seems to immediately work itself out. Take for example our camping trip last week in Eustis at Cathedral Pines Campground.

Situated on the shores of Maine's historic Flagstaff Lake, Cathedral Pines is home to our longest and most relaxing annual camping trip of the year. Over the last week we ate junk food, had campfires, played board games and did lots and lots of swimming. After all it was in the upper 80s to low 90s through much of the midweek.

One of the days that we went down to the lake for a dip I had a little mishap.. a potentially expensive 'little mishap'. Evan (my oldest) and I decided when we got down to the beach we would jump off the end of the dock where the float was. A few minutes after jumping in, my wife asked me what time it was. I looked down at my wrist but only saw the tan-line of where my Apple Watch had been. I didn't freak out, I actually assumed that I had taken it off at the campsite before we headed down to the beach, even though I typically swim with it on.

About a half hour later, another family came down to do some swimming at the beach. It was a mom and two young children. A boy and a girl probably around 12 years old or so. A few minutes later the boy (who had been jumping off the same float we did) popped up out of the water holding an Apple Watch he had found at the bottom of the lake. Sure enough, it was mine. I couldn't even believe it.

Not only did I not even realize I had lost it, but someone who didn't know that I wasn't even not looking for it found it! <That's a wicked weird sentence. Anyway, THANK YOU so much to the kind family that came down and helped me out when I didn't even know I needed it.
