After 29 Years, Mainers Are Ready For The Cult Classic Hocus Pocus 2
Let's be honest, today was a big day for the witches of the world and my lovely wiccans here in Maine.
We have been waiting with bated breath for 20 years to be reunited with the Sanderson Sisters once again and our wishes are finally being answered. And I am still waiting because even though it premiered in the wee hours of the morning, I have yet to watch it!
Hocus Pocus 2 premiered in most living rooms as of 3am this day of September 30th 2022, on Disney Plus.
I remember when the original Hocus Pocus was released. It was July 16th, 1993 and I was 8 years old. After watching the movie, I was a witch for every single Halloween for most of my childhood. I also started to lightly practice witchcraft (the good kind) because I was enthralled by that world. I knew the characters were made up and it was just a story but to be able to point your finger at something and watch it levitate was pretty dope in my 9 year old mind.
The Hocus Pocus Movie is a cult classic and if you ever at all cared for Halloween, the moment you see this movie playing on your TV, you know that Halloween season has officially begun!
I normally just keep it on an endless loop in my living room. Now, because its set in Salem, Massetuchites, we Mainers understand the importance of this flick.
Remember, it's all just a bunch of Hocus Pocus.
What could get you in the mood more than old witches, a virgin who lights a Black Flamed Candle and a century old talking cat.
As I have been scrolling through Facebook, I have noticed a lot of us Mainer's are channeling our inner witch and preparing our cauldrons to welcome the sequel. I mean, it's everywhere.
after 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century Sanderson sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to the three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallows Eve.
This movie is going to blow my broom right out of my hands ladies and gentle-witches! The best part is that all three of the characters that played the Sanderson sisters are back! Bette Midler, Sarah-Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are going to bless us again with their wicked presence!
I will see you on Monday, tired and excited to talk all about the newest sequel to the Hocus Pocus empire!
