Augusta School District Closes School For The Remainder Of Year
In a post at the Augusta School Department website, superintendant James Anastasio has announced the classroom instruction will be cancelled for the remainder of the year.
The post reads:
As many of you know, the Commissioner of Education with the support of the Governor and guidance from the Maine CDC, announced that classroom/group instruction has been canceled for the remainder of the school year. That does not mean the Augusta School Department is closed. Food will still be provided to students and educators will be providing support to students and families.
Additionally, the post says that the administration has designed a "guide" that engages the students in things they have already learned. The school board will vote on the approval of this guide during a special Zoom meeting on Wednesday (April 15th) at 6 PM
Anastasio also calls for the school year to officially end on June 5th.
