Back in the Day: The Graphics Sucked but the Forecasting was as Good or Better than it is Today! [Video]

Oh, the good ole days of tv weather. Ugly suits, loud ties, bad haircuts and, compared to today, hysterical graphics! The weather maps Bob O'Wril stood in front of on WGAN, channel 13, were about the equivalent of a grammar school style overhead projector, complete with hand written conditions and temperatures and even drawn suns and clouds. And we liked it just fine!

Nowadays, you kids with your computer graphic suns and clouds in high def, you're spoiled. And do you think the weather predicting is any better than it was back then? If you do, then I have 20, 000 acres of oceanfront property in Bar Harbor I'll sell you for a hundred bucks!

Bob O'wril was the man! The graphics were da bomb! The fashions were.....okay, the fashions bit the big one. But, the forecasts were concise and accurate without dilly dallying around telling me about a cold front moving through the Great Lakes that MAY effect our weather next week.

Stop it! You don't know! Just grab a sharpie, draw some weather conditions tell me what tomorrow's going to be like HERE! I'm sick of those God forsaken forecasts that cover everything in the hemisphere. Keep it simple, stupid (the KISS principal)! That's what Bob would do.
