Severe Storms With Outages & Damaging Winds Possible in Maine Thursday
You know what summer in Maine means, don't ya? It means loads of traffic from the tourists, pollen floating through the air like it's on a mission, replacing space heaters with air conditioners and, last but not least, thunderstorms.
To be fair, it seems like we have been a little light on the thunderstorms so far this season considering it's already mid-June and I don't remember having a thunderstormy kind of day at any point this Spring. Well, looks like that could all change today.
According to a weather article published by WGME 13, not only could much of Maine see strong thunderstorms today (Thursday), but some of these storms could even produce hail, damaging winds and sporadic power outages.
How high is the risk for damaging storms in Maine tonight?
The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has placed the White Mountains, Western Maine Mountains, and interior Maine under a Level 2 out of 5 (yellow) risk for severe weather on Thursday. WGME is reporting that the greatest threat for storms is expected between 5 PM and 9 PM.

It's gonna be wicked hot out next week
The next notable weather will happen on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week when a heat wave will make its way through New England. While Monday and Wednesday are going to be hot, Tuesday looks to be the hottest day in store for Maine with high temperatures slated for the mid 90s.
