There is a bottled water recall at Hannaford and Shaw’s grocery stores. The recall is due to E.Coli being found in the water supply and a contractor failing to notify of the E.Coli findings at the spring source.

Niagara bottled water is sold in 14 brand names.

The water being recalled is under these brand names Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, 7-11, Niagara, Nature's Place (Hannaford), Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, Shoprite, Western Beef Blue and Wegman's.

The E.coli was found in Niagara’s water supply on June 18th.   Niagara Bottling LLC is recalling spring water products produced at two different plants in Pennsylvania between the dates of June 10 and June 18.  The two plants are located in Hamburg and Allentown.

The good news is nothing was detected in the finished product and there have been no reports of illness.

E. coli can cause a number of stomach issues including, abdominal cramping, diarrhea vomiting and nausea.

Niagara says, the water should not be consumed as-is. If you want to drink it, you must boil it first to kill all bacteria and organisms. They also suggest you don’t drink it at all.
