Corey Hart, the Canadian singer best known for "Sunglasses at Night" and "Never Surrender" has retired from music. After 30 years, last night he said goodbye at the Bell Centre in Montreal and put down his shades for good.

Living in Canada, he was a mega-star through the 80s and early 90s. As a teen you go through phases, you like pop stars and then you gag at their music because of too much play, exposure, etc. but years later you listen to those songs from your teen years that at the time were just hits on the radio now mean something as they bring you back especially the ballads.

Hart's retirement that's hard to take because 30 years doesn't seem that long ago. Where does the time go? "Sunglasses at Night" was one of my first 45s. "Never Surrender" is a song of struggle and desire to get what you want even though the road is tough and sometimes long and a song that connected with me.

"Everything in my Heart" and "It Ain't Enough" were the slow dance songs that bring back memories.

Moving forward Hart wants to write an autobiography and live an adult life and spend more time with his family.
