The Waterville City Council today (Jan. 19) will be discussing to sell Colby College land on The Concourse. The plan is for the college to then build a student dormitory on the three-quarters of an acre parcel.

The land bordered by Main, Appleton and Temple streets, is where the farmers market sets up weekly during warmer weather.

According to centralmaine.com, "having Colby students and staff living downtown is part of Colby’s effort to help the city revitalize the downtown."

The college recently has bought several vacant downtown buildings.
