We're lucky to live in a region where there's lots of wildlife, and the creative ways in which these critters interact with humans is quite amusing.

Take, for instance, the hungry bear who stole snacks off of a front porch in New Hampshire, and another bear that sheltered from the cold right underneath a New England home, much to the surprise of its residents.

But in addition to the furry woodland creatures frequenting our neck of the woods, there's also plenty of endangered and threatened species including mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and more.

According to New Hampshire Fish and Game, endangered wildlife are classified as:

...those native species whose prospects for survival in New Hampshire are in danger because of a loss or change in habitat, over-exploitation, predation, competition, disease, disturbance or contamination.

In order to ensure that endangered animals doesn't become extinct, assistance is needed. Contrastingly, threatened wildlife "may become endangered if conditions surrounding them begin, or continue, to decline." They're not endangered yet, but could be if things get worse.

At present, 30 animals make up New Hampshire's endangered species list. You've definitely heard of some of them, but others will likely be unfamiliar to you. Let's take a look at these creatures, and learn a little more about them.
