We used to go grocery shopping off hours because of how crazy the stores are on the weekend especially midday but Lynn is a now nine to fiver now and shopping at 9 pm when I get out is just too tiring for both of us. Yes one of us could do it on our own but what fun is that?

I like to grocery shop with my wife, it's kind of like going on a date at times, that's if we're alone.

I'm not sure how you shop but rarely do we make a list beyond the absolutes, meaning stuff we're out of or almost out of. Maybe to some that's bad planning or leads to wasteful spending but I like the spontaneity of throwing stuff in the cart you didn't know you needed or wanted before you saw it. For example, we didn't know before we bought it we'd be having tacos tonight because the taco kit was not on the list and I love tacos.

We also added paper towels, cereal, a five gallon water jug for the water cooler and Kraft Dinner for those late nights for when I get home and I hungry.

On the other hand Barbie wasn't on the list but our daughter Vikki was very good while we went through three stores today, so we caved.

What about you when you grocery shop, do you use a list or impulse buy? I know most probably do a combination of both but just wondering.
