EEE Case Confirmed In York County
According to WMTW, on Friday, the Maine CDC confirmed that a York County horse had contracted EEE (Eastern equine encephalitis).

EEE is spread through bites from mosquitos infected with the virus. Those younger than 15 and older than 50 are most susceptible to contracting it.
In Maine, there have been no cases of humans contracting EEE or West Nile this year. The last confirmed case of a human getting it was in 2015.
