Fairfield, Maine Man Hit & Killed By 18-Wheeler Friday Morning

It was an absolutely tragic scene that unfolded in the early morning house of Friday, January 3rd, 2025 in the town of Fairfield, Maine.

According to multiple news reports, including an article that was published on Friday morning by WGME 13, the incident happened in Fairfield, Maine at about 3:40 in the morning while it was still very dark outside.

The news station goes on to report that at about 3:40 Friday morning, a Fairfield, Maine man was attempting to cross an interstate off-ramp on foot. WGME says that the man was attempting to walk across the off-ramp of interstate 95 exit 132.

It was at that time that the man was struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler. Police and fire crews were dispatched and immediately responded to the tragic scene at the off-ramp, however, the damage was already done and the victim was pronounced dead.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, who has not yet been identified, was not injured in the accident. The pedestrian, however, 49-year-old, Mark Michaud of Fairfield, sustained injuries that he succumbed to at the scene.
