Flash Mob in Waterville Brings Attention to Teen Dating Violence
Shoppers at Hannaford, Elm Plaza in Waterville, were treated to quite a surprise Friday (Feb. 27) night. It was a 'flash mob' presented by the kNOw Violence Task Force and Dance Connection dancers. Their hope was to bring attention to the problem of teen dating violence.
According to Lynne Daily from the the Family Violence Project, the event was pulled off thanks to support from the Sexual Assault Crisis and Support and the Child Abuse Commission, local police departments and local school personnel. Vassalboro Community School showed support making posters and members of the Messalonskee High School choir were there to sing.
