Gardiner Police Searching For Burglary Suspect Who Assaulted Home Owner Monday Night
According to an article on WGME 13, Gardiner Police are looking to identify a suspect accused of multiple crimes on Monday evening.
Gardiner Police say that they were called to a home on Brunswick Avenue at about 6:45 Monday evening. They found that an area home had been broken into and that the homeowner had sustained head injuries as well as possible broken ribs after an altercation with the intruder.
WGME reports that the homeowner told police officers on scene that he had confronted the alleged burglar after he had entered the man's basement. Following the altercation with the homeowner, the suspect then fled the scene before police could arrive.
Authorities then brought in a K-9 unit to try and sniff out a trail but to no avail. Gardiner Police are asking area residents and business owners to check their security camera footage to see if they captured any recordings of the suspect fleeing the scene on Brunswick Avenue.
