Get CPR Certified And Benefit Camp Out Hunger Maine at The Same Time!
If you're not familiar with what Camp Out Hunger is, it is an annual event where radio personalities Matt James, Lizzy Snyder and Cooper Fox camp out for a whole week in the Sam's Club parking lot in Augusta, Maine.
What started as a crazy idea in a 15-minute meeting years ago has evolved into the single-largest food drive in Central Maine. For a week in November, the Sam's Club Augusta parking lot is transformed into a makeshift 'campground' as several campers and even mobile broadcast studios move in.
In addition, there is a 53-foot semi trailer on hand that all of the food donations get placed into over the course of the week. From non-perishable food items and even pet food, Camp Out Hunger, with assistance from the Salvation Army, has one goal in mind. To make sure nobody in Central Maine is hungry this winter. Full stop.
How can you help? Well, you can make a non-perishable food (or monetary) donation at the Sam's Club parking lot during the second week of November, or you could sign up to become CPR and first aid certified! (Honestly, we prefer you do both!)
Thanks to our friends at CPR New England and Rotary Club of Augusta, ALL of the proceeds from these three classes will go right to the cause at Camp Out Hunger- and we couldn't be happier! The classes will happen at Lisa's White Flour Catering right here in Augusta and will only be $50 bucks per person (usually $127!)
The courses will be available on Thursday, November 2nd with one from 7-9a and another from 5-7p. Additionally, there will be a course on Sunday, November 5th from 7-9a.
All you have to do to sign up for one of these courses, get certified and do some good in the community is click right here!
