Great Falls Balloon Festival

It's the 20th Great Falls Balloon Festival this weekend, August 17th to the 19th.

Living in Lewiston-Auburn, The Great Falls Balloon Festival to me always means the last fun event of summer. My kids always look forward to it every year. Then when it's done, it means school is near. I think I've been to everyone since the 6th annual.  Last year, I was lucky enough to ride a raft and see the balloons from the Androscoggin River. The bulk of the festival is at Simard-Payne (formally Railroad Park) in Lewiston. Launches, (weather permitting) are 6am and 6pm. If you've never been, it's an amazing sight. I'll be there with the Moose Caboose at 4pm on Saturday, August 18, 2012.
