Heavy State Police Presence Spotted In Sidney
UPDATE (August 16th, 4:30 PM)
According to the KJ, 40 year old Randy Wathen, of 77 Richard Road (Sidney), has been arrested following a several hour long standoff.
The incident began when law enforcement showed up at Wathen's home at around 9 AM on Friday to serve a warrant for an incident that occurred on Thursday night in Portland. The police tactical team was called after Wathen showed a gun and refused to come out of his house.
Wathen surrendered just after 3 PM and was taken to Kennebec County Jail in Augusta.
According to Maine Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, charges have not yet officially been filed.

According to WMTW, there is a heavy Maine State Police presence on Richard Road in Sidney.
Public safety spokesman Steve McCausland did not indicate what the significant presence pertained to, but said that it was not a drill.
Several police cruisers and people in camouflaged clothing were spotted along the side of the road.
According to a report on WGME, police have said there is no danger to the public.
