How Can Fireball Be Sold At Non-Liquor Stores Legally?
If you are anything like me, you question everything that seems out of sorts, and expect a valid answer to be able to move forward in your life.
Case in point, I have been seeing Maines favorite hard liquor, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey being sold everywhere in 99 cent nips. I've seen bins of them at Hannaford, Irving stations, drug stores, all over the place.
Something cried "foul" in my righteous mind...how could Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey be sold at all these places that didn't sell or have any other "hard liquor"? I mean I know they are one of the most popular brands of booze out there... but what did they do to be able to skirt the law?
I decided to go to a source I trusted would know this kind of information....my pals at Damon's Beverage and Redemption Center, and the answer may shock you!
The little nip sized Fireball Cinnamon Whisky that you get at those non-liquor store places ...is in fact, not whisky at all, it's actually a whole different concoction that is a malt-beverage. If you look closely at it, it looks very similar to the real nips you would get at a liquor store but, next time look closer and you will see that it is actually called simply... "Fireball Cinnamon" , no whisky mention at all. The distinctions are how it is made, how much alcohol is in it, and what ingredients are in it.
Speaking of the alcohol difference regular Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, which is whisky based is 66 proof, and the Fireball Cinnamon, malt based is 42 proof.
Any if you are wondering why they both look so much alike? I don't have it from any official sources but my best marketing guess says it is done that way on purpose simply to extend brand awareness.
