This Week Declared as ‘Human Trafficking Awareness Week’

Friday, Jan. 23, Gov. Paul LePage signed a proclamation declaring the week of January 25th as 'Human Trafficking Awareness Week.'

Senator Amy Volk (R-Scarborough), a longtime advocate for the fight against human trafficking, spoke at the event and joined the Moose Morning Show today, Monday, Jan. 26. Hear the interview above.

During the proclamation event, a music video with Maine ties was featured. Recording artist Steve Azar, recently wrote a moving song, 'The Sky is Falling,' that speaks to the topic of human trafficking. The video below was made by 18 year old Mike Rodway, a student who attends Waynflete High School in Portland.
