Hannaford Temporarily Shuts Down App & Website – Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire Take Note
If you went to place an order using the Hannaford app and found that it was not work, you are not alone.
It appears that they have taken down the app and website in order to prevent further damage from a cyber attack.
According to an article on the WGME website, a network security incident is affecting several services used by Hannaford customers. Because of this, the chain's parent company, Ahold Delhaize, intentionally took critical systems offline Tuesday.
The incident has disrupted access to some company services, including its website, mobile app and Hannaford To Go, which provides grocery pickup and delivery services.
Ahold Delhaize said the systems were taken offline as part of its response to the network security incident. The extent of the disruption and how long the affected services may remain unavailable have not been established in the information provided.
Hannaford, which operates grocery stores throughout Maine and the Northeast, has dealt with cybersecurity incidents in the past, including hacking attacks reported in 2008 and 2024.

For the last several years, Hannaford has been working on expanding their Hannaford To Go offerings. The service allows customers to place an order using the app or site. A team of skilled Hannaford shoppers will select the items you chose for your order. These employees will also make appropriate substitutions when necessary. You can then roll up to the front of the store to get your grocery order. The service is perfect for people who are really on the go and have little time to spend time on a proper shopping trip.
