Readfield Heritage Days 2026 Brings A Full Weekend To Maine

One of the great things about living in Maine is that we really know how to throw a community festival.

Sure, there are bigger festivals that attract people from all over New England and, in some cases, from other countries. These include the Moxie Festival, the Yarmouth Clam Festival, and the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland.

True Mainers, those who have spent the majority of their lives here, will tell you that the best festivals are the small community centered events. These events generally feature family-friendly activities, food, live music, and fireworks. Great examples of these include Oosoola Days, Old Hallowell Day, and Readfield Heritage Days.

2026 Readfield Heritage Days

This year's events get kicked off on Friday, August 7th and run through Sunday August 9th.

Friday, August 7

The festivities begin with three evening events:

5 to 7 PM: Wine & Cheese Social at the Readfield Historical Society
6 to 8 PM: Book donation drop-off at the Readfield Fire Station
7 to 9 PM: Sock Hop at Readfield Beach

Saturday, August 8

Saturday is the biggest day of the celebration, with activities running from early morning through the evening.

Highlights include:

8 to 10 PM: Breakfast with the Masons
8 to 11 PM: Kids Triathlon at Readfield Beach
9 AM to 1 PM: Community Library Book Sale
9 AM to 2 PM: United Methodist Church Bake Sale, Garage Sale, and Quilt Show
10 AM to Noon: Historical Walk at East Readfield Cemetery
11 AM to 3 PM: Maker's Market at the Readfield Fairgrounds featuring food, inflatables, and local vendors
11 AM to 3 PM: Kickball Tournament
Noon to 3 PM: Timber Framing Demonstration
1 to 3 PM: Ice Cream Social and Face Painting
11 AM to 3 PM: Art exhibit featuring Benjamin Stoodley
3 to 5 PM: Readfield Fire Department Open House and Cookout
9 PM: Fireworks at Readfield Beach
