According to Mainebiz, it's all thanks to a partnership with ReSupply. They are a veteran-owned donation-hauling company. If you have clothes, furniture, or even appliances that you just can't get to Goodwill Northern New England, they will come get it.
How can I get Goodwill in Greater Portland, Maine to pick up my donations?
There is a small fee you pay for ReSupply people to come to your home and pick up your donations and then drive them to a local Goodwill. You know how sometimes, you'll want to donate something and Goodwill isn't able to accept them? ReSupply will take those items to other charities that will accept them.
Goodwill's director of logistics told Mainebiz,
Getting to a donation center can be difficult for some folks, especially if they have large, bulky items like furniture. Our goal is to make donating easier and more accessible for our communities by offering donation pickups. We hope our donors find value in this alternative donating option. If it’s not your cup of tea, our donation specialists are ready for you at our stores.
This is starting in Greater Portland and they plan to expand to other towns in Maine over the next few weeks. Right now they will be able to pick up your donations near Biddeford, South Portland, Gorham, Westbrook, Falmouth, Windham, Topsham, and Brunswick.
Head to the Goodwill website and ReSupply will reach out and work on a pick-up within 1 to 2 days. This is a fantastic partnership!
