Join The Camp Out Hunger Free Pizza/Dance Party This Friday Night @ Sam’s Club in Augusta, Maine
Can you believe it's that time of the year again? It's time for our annual Camp Out Hunger food drive. Our mission each and every year is to raise as much non-perishable food and cash for the Capital Region Salvation Army in Augusta. And this year is the most important one yet.
In addition to the fact that more than 10% of Maine's population is food insecure (that's more than 100,000 people!), we've seen record inflation in the last couple of years and grocery prices that have been surging through the roof. This, couples the overall cost of living increase, has left even more Mainers wondering where their next warm meal is going to come from. That's why we do this.
And though it can be a fairly somber event at times as we hear stories from all around Maine of people that are battling food insecurity in their own home, we also know how to make it fun, too.
In addition to the Bowl-Licious food truck that will be with us all week, we've also decided to bring back our Friday night pizza and dance party with DJ Sam Hook. Cappza's Pizza will be supplying tons of piping-hot pizza for anyone who comes out to see us from 4:30 - 7:30 on Friday afternoon/evening.
Also, our most-favorite person ever, Sam-The-Unpaid-Intern (DJ Sam Hook) will be on site playing a bunch of tunes to keep you movin' and groovin'!
