If you live in Augusta, Maine, and you don't know Merry St. Pierre, well, you're about to.

And when you do meet her, be ready for her to change your life, whether you want her to or not. She's the Senior Marketing Consultant at Townsquare Media, but let’s be real guys: she’s so much more than that.

Merry is one of those people who has a hand in everything, whether it's organizing a 5k, volunteering for the Salvation Army, or making sure kids have warm coats for the winter.

She’s a past Rotary president (twice, no big deal), has served on the HCCA Board, and has worked with the Teen Center, United Way, the KVYMCA, and pretty much any other organization that could use an extra hand.

She’s also the reason local high school students get to experience the Haunted Trail, raising money for Spruce Mountain.

Oh, and let’s not forget the hundreds of hours spent supporting Wreaths Across America or Travis Mills Foundation events. She’s everywhere. Because that is her super power. To give herself, to us. Wholeheartedly.

So, it shouldn't be a surprise that Merry is nominated for a Kenney Award this year!

The nominees for the Community Service Award are Merry St. Pierre, Corey Vose, and Anne Lachance. One lucky winner will be chosen on January 24th, at the Civic Center in Augusta.

Merrys commitment to this community is ridiculous. In the best way possible.

Seriously, you can’t throw a rock in Augusta without hitting something Merry has worked on or donated to. Meals on Wheels? She’s there every week, packing and delivering food. The Greater Augusta Backpack Program? You bet!

Special Olympics Maine, United Way Day of Caring? She’s there, giving her time, wisdom, and if you’re really lucky, she’ll even give you the shirt off her back. Seriously.

I’ve had the privilege of watching Merry connect with so many people, and it’s clear that her heart and mind are always centered on humanity. For her, people come first, and without a second thought, she’ll spend hours with someone who just needs a listening ear.

And just in case you think she’s too busy to care about her own family, think again. Merry is the rock. As a mother of two, grandmother to several, and a loving wife to Jeff, she balances it all with the kind of grace that makes you wonder if she has a secret clone.

Merry doesn’t just give her time to people, she gives everything. She’s walked 60 miles for breast cancer... 7 TIMES. And the money she’s raised has made a huge impact.

So yeah, she might just be a superhero. But instead of a cape, she wears a smile and an “I’m here to help” attitude that she won't allow you to ignore.

Let’s be real guys, Maine could use a few more Merry St. Pierre's. So it's no wonder she was nominated for the Community Service Award.

Congratulations on your nominee, Merry. Central Maine wouldn’t be the same without you, and we’re lucky to have you in our corner, walking beside us, and always holding our hands.
