It's no secret that while working in radio isn't always glamorous, it does sometimes come with its cool little perks. Ya know, like meeting huge celebrities backstage while they're on tour.

Now, admittedly, this doesn't happen very often, but when it does, we take full advantage. A couple of years ago, I got the chance to go backstage at two different concerts in the same week.

The first was the Luke Combs show in Bangor. However, because I was scheduled to be DJ'ing a wedding that night, I was unable to attend so, begrudgingly, my wife had to go without me. As you can imagine, I have never let her live this down, despite the fact that we've seen him multiple times since.

That same week, in a different state, we got the chance to hang backstage and share come cocktails with a couple other country legends. Backstage at the Pavilion in New Hampshire, we got to chill with Tracy Lawrence and Jason Aldean. Thankfully I DIDN'T have another commitment that night.

Of course, as we all know, Luke Combs is due back in Bangor, Maine tonight for a 'make-good' show from a couple years ago. If you remember, the last time Luke was in Maine it was a double-header. However, due to a strained voice, Luke refunded everyone at the second show, still performed, and promised he'd be back. That's why he's in Maine tonight.

So will we end up backstage tonight? The jury is still out, though I have reached out to Luke's tour managers and reminded them that last time I had to miss it because I was also 'performing'. We'll see what happened. Right now, I've just been left on read.
