Last Night’s $1.35 Billion Mega Millions Winning Ticket Was Sold in Maine!
Someone in Maine is about to become WICKED popular with their friends, family and, dare we assume, FORMER coworkers.
According to WGME 13, there was only ONE winning ticket sold in the entire country for last night's Mega Millions Jackpot, and that ticket was sold right here in the Pine Tree State. Oh, and the odds of winning the jackpot to begin with? 1 in 302 million.
If the sole winner decides to take the cash option, they'll end up with an estimated $724 million. Now, let's get down to brass tacks- what exactly ARE the winning numbers?
30, 43, 45, 46, 61 and the Mega Ball is 14
Last night's jackpot, according to WGME, is the second highest in Mega Millions history. They went on to explain that the record Mega Millions jackpot still stands at a whopping $1.537 billion, which was also won by a single ticket in South Carolina back on October 23, 2018.
Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald, Lead Director for the Mega Millions Consortium, said in part after the drawing,
“Congratulations to the Maine State Lottery, which has just won its first-ever Mega Millions jackpot,” said . “It’s the fourth billion-dollar jackpot in Mega Millions history. We thank all our retailers for their hard work during this spectacular run, and our customers for their enthusiasm and support. I hope the fun and excitement Mega Millions has generated inspires a winning attitude in our daily lives and towards everyone we meet. Here’s to a good year!”
